- Because he took a big gamble last year. He expanded the company in major
- ways three times (Commodore, Rumbelows, RWE) and the return on the balance
- sheet was lousy, PC industry hit notwithstanding. So someone had to be
- held accountable.

- I'm not saying I agree with the decision. But that's how 1995 unfolded
- for Escom.
